This ad is trying to sell xerox color. It uses bright, neon colors to stand out. This text is effective because it uses colored owls to lead you to the text. The creator compares the metaphor of owls being wise to the text hence "wise color". This text takes up most of the picture focusing all your attention to it. The smaller text explains in depth, but the larger bold text gives away the basic concept.

This advertisement is trying to convince people to come to the pleasure beach fair.the ad is colorful and bright, drawing your attention to it. The text is fancy, colorful, and fun.The treatment of the text is successful it makes you interested by standing out. The text matched the flag in the background. It all blends together nicely. The text is outlined making it stand out more.

This ad is advertisement is trying to sell leaf/snow blowers. This photograph sells the product by implying that these leaf blowers will blow away all the other big employers. In other words if you buy this leaf blower it may not be big but it is better.I think that this text is affective. The leaf blower is perceived to be blowing away this news paper article that is explaining that shoppers are fed up with "big-box" stores. The text is quite small, but what is important to the viewer is bigger and bolder then the rest.

This ad is trying to sell Mr. Clean cleaning product. The targeted audience would most likely be young adults to adults. This may be determined by marital status also. This ad is trying to convince us that Mr. Clean is better then the average cleaner. The creator wants us to think that if we use this product then whatever we are cleaning will be spotless.

This advertisement is trying to sell Bose headphones. The targeted audience are teenagers and young adults. This ad tries to persuade you into believing that bose headphones are so clear, and make you unaware of any outside noise. In this case an extraordinary loud sound, Niagara Falls. This ad uses exaduration to try and get you to buy their product.

advertising project

This ad is selling bic razors. The targeted audience is more than likely women above the age of 15 or 16. It cannot be defined by marital status or socio-economic background. This ad persuades you by implying that the razor is so sharp that it can cut threw grass. When you look at this you compare the grass to hair. therefor you are interested in buying it because it looks like it work well.

critisim

1)This picture has far to much noise. The white balance was not set. The room was to dark when it was captured. Although the color creates a sort of mood, it is still lacks light. This picture is to warm, and dark. Yet I still like the mood of it.

2)There really is nothing going on in this picture. I should have took a picture of many picture frames together, insted of one. Even thought this picture has meaning to me, someone observing it would most likely not catch on to the meaning. The color is a bit to warm. This picture has hidden meaning, but i should have made it more clear.
3) If I could go back and take this picture again, I would use more frames and available lighting. I would lower the iso, and change the white balance. I would use a cooling filter too. I would not change the meaning I was trying to get across

Out of the three styles that i examined, I want to try Henry Diltz's. He was very into music and took many pictures of musicians and played folk music himself. As A musician myself I would love to emulate his work. I have an idea to take a black and white picture and try not to edit it very much. I want to try and get the feel that it is not a digital photograph. Henry Diltz worked alone and as will I. The photograph I will emulate is namedTom Waits. This photograph was a film print. Henry did not use artificial lighting. He may have used props but it seems as if this picture was taken spontaneously. Everything in this photo is unedited, it was shot in 1980, before digital photography was introduced.
This photo the subject Tom either has writers block or is just waiting for the right idea to pop into his head. In my photo I will portray the same meaning. I have this favorite song from one of my favorite bands Bright Eyes, its called Another Traveling Song. The part i would like to incorporate into my picture is:
"Now I'm hunched over a typewriter
I guess you call that paintin' in a cave
And there's a word I can't remember
and a feeling I cannot escape
And now my ashtray's overflowing
I'm still staring at a clean white page
Oh and morning's at my window
she is sending me to bed again."
In a way this part of the song is similar to Tom Waits. The picture will have props in it such as a guitar, typewriter, ashtray, an amp, paper, and more. I would like to position the typewriter right in front of the camera, but still focus on the models in the backround. There will be two musicians in the photo, one on the type writer the other on the guitar. The models will look kind of messy, like they have been there for days. The lighting in this photo will be a little dark to show distress. This photo will emulate Henry Diltz's methods. I want to follow his rock and roll vibe. He started out with a 20$ second hand camera.
Henry Diltz- This photograph was a film print. This photographer did not use artificial props or lighting. Everything in this photo is unedited, it was shot in 1980, before digital photography was introduced. There is no obvious photoshop edits. I am almost positive that this photographer worked alone.

Amanda Lucier
- This is a film print because it was also taken in 1980. There is no artificial lighting or props on this picture. There is nothing edited in this photo. There is no photoshop edits that i can see. This photographer also worked alone.

Sally Mann
- This is a film print. It was taken in 1951. there is no artificial lighting the prop may be the candy cigarette. There is nothing edited in this photo. There is no visible photoshop edits. This photographer walked alone.
